OPENS AFTER ISSUE 1

The Index Archive

The season’s mood, charted week by week. Every Friday’s number, filed and filterable — the fanbase’s collective memory, in one place.

Nothing to chart yet

The Mood Index needs a first Friday to start the chart. Once Issue 1 lands, every week’s Mood Score, Manager Trust, and Standards Check builds this page — and it never resets.

WHY IT MATTERS

Anyone can tell you how one loud voice felt about a match. Nobody else can show you how the whole fanbase felt, week by week, for an entire season. That chart becomes the receipt for every argument — and the record journalists will quote.

While the chart warms up: the permanent record
MOMENTS EVERY BLUE KNOWS

The Mood Index will chart how we feel from here. This is what came before — the dates that need no explanation at the Bridge.

1905

Founded at The Rising Sun pub on Fulham Road, across from the ground we still call home.

1955

The first league title — fifty years in, and worth every one of them.

1970

The FA Cup at last — Osgood, Harris and the replay at Old Trafford that entered legend.

2005

Mourinho’s 95 points. Fifty years of waiting ended with the meanest defence England had ever seen.

2012

Munich. Drogba’s header, Drogba’s penalty, in their own back yard. Champions of Europe.

2021

Porto. Havertz through the middle, and Europe belonged to us again. Some of us were in that ground — ask Alex.
